Melanie Barksdale is a photographer whose primary focus is on environmental self-portraiture. She received her undergrad in Photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has always been interested in the arts and later on discovered her love of education and incorporating teaching and art.  She received her graduate degree in Education at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and works as an Educational Assistant at Film at Lincoln Center. Apart from teaching Melanie continues her photography and has been featured in Photoville and intersectional feminist magazine, Sugar.
